Ken's Adventure

In high school, I spent four years tinkering with RPG Maker 2000 and making a role playing game. The result is Ken's Adventure!

Featuring witty dialogue and your choice of four endings,
Ken's Adventure takes roughly three to eight hours to complete!

Join Ken on an epic quest to rid his town from an evil dragon!

Installing Ken's Adventure

Unzip KensAdventure.zip
Open Setup.exe
Choose an Install Path (ex. 'C:\Ken's Adventure\')
Check "Add games shortcut to the start menu"
Go to Start > Programs > RPG Maker 2000 > Games
Run Ken's Adventure!

If you can clearly read the words 'Start', 'Load', and 'End' on the title screen, you should be all set! Otherwise, try running the included Font Patch.

Controls

Arrow Keys - move, highlight things on the menu
Enter - talk, examine, open doors, make menu selections
Escape - open the main menu, cancel, end shopping

You can also enter and exit rafts using the Enter key!
Rafts can travel through shallow (light blue) water.

Characters

From left to right: Ken, Jonah, Fred, Murray

Ken is the guy you control throughout most of the game. A dragon is burning up his town, but to defeat it he must find better equipment, tell corny jokes, and gain experience points.

Starting the Game

I made this game for my friends, many of whom don't play video games! The dialogue reveals tips, giving new players an overview of what a role-playing game is, and how to play!

Defeat enemies to earn experience points and gold
Weapons and armor are only useful if you equip them!
Valuable items are found in stores and treasure chests
