I had the unique opportunity to be a founding member of a successful company, Agora Games, while in college. I helped the company grow from a start-up in the RPI Incubator Center into a leader in integrated online communities for games.
2D Texture Artist / Level Designer
September 2004 - October 2005
Agora Games started as a small web development start-up called Agora Studios. In order to make the shift into the gaming industry, the company developed a Half-Life 2 mod called Plan of Attack, with one key feature: online stat tracking across all servers.

At this time, I was working about 20 hours a week for free as a 2D Texture Artist and Level Designer on the Plan of Attack Development Team. I even found a summer job in the Troy area so I could continue working on the mod in my spare time!
Community Manager
November 2005 - October 2006
Agora Games' first big web project in the gaming industry was a fully integrated online community for Vicarious Visions' Nintendo DS title, Tony Hawk's American Sk8land. I was asked to lead this community with a team of friends including my college roommate!

My work as a Community Manager on Vicarious Visions' game actually coincided with a Design Co-op position I accepted at Vicarious Visions when I was a sophomore at RPI - I was designing Sk8land's sequel, Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam! (see my work at Vicarious Visions)
Director of Community Management and Design
October 2006 - September 2007
After proving myself as an active leader of the Plan of Attack and Tony Hawk's American Sk8land online communities, I was promoted to Director of Community Management - in charge of Agora's seven person moderation team.

My role shifted toward design when my online feature design work at Vicarious Visions, namely for Transformers DS, proved to be valuable to Agora Games. From October 2006 on, I managed all of Agora's design work, including online design integration proposals for potential projects, and in-depth design specifications for accepted projects.
